I got a memory card reader!

I have a memory card reader now so I can put my pictures/videos on this here blog! I helped my friend Andreas and his friend Ole Martin record some black metal tracks, one is an original and the other is a cover of Emperor's Inno a Satana. I saw Gorgoroth on Monday, it was alright but not as good as the first time I saw them. No people on crusifixes, no goatheads, no flames, and worst of all no Gaahl. Gaahl is the old vocalist from Gorgoroth who is the center of much contoversy around the group. There where so many changes to the bandmember lineup that only one of the members remained from the lineup that I saw last year at Wacken open air in Germany. They played my fave songs (destroyer and insipid satan) Å well- tonight I'm going to see Aqua! YEAH! WHOOP WOOP! A couple of weeks ago my class climbed up a mountain to get to snow at the peak. My friend Patrik borrowed some skis from the school. One of the bindings wouldn't stay on his foot so he skied with one ski. Here is a video I took of him doing a 180.

Høstferie

Last night I got tickets for Gorgoroth on the 19th (this mondag) and Aqua on the 22nd(next thorsdag), they should both be good shows, though they are polar opposites of the musical spectrum- Black Metal vs. Dance-pop.
I am still away from my school on høstferie (Parent break), Bømlo has been great. I broke My friend Magnus´boss´ windshield on his boat and I have been working for several days at the Trout farm platform to pay back the cost of a new plexiglass windshield. We´ve been busy changing the trout nets. I smell like fish. Magnus´cat is really nice, Norwegian cats are always really cuddly. Booji Bomb(Jeremy Kiss) sent me a cool song he made called shenanigans, listen to it on his myspace here!

Bømlo

I am on a break from school. I am staying with some friends from my freeride class, Magnus and Kolbein. They live in a municipality consisting of a series of islands colectively called Bømlo. Bømlo is on the west coast of Norway halfway between Stavanger and Bergen. Magnus works on a trout farm platform. I went to work with him for two days. His duties include making sure the salmon get fed the proper amount each day, and sucking the dead fish from the bottom of the nets. The dead fish are put into a bucket of acid where they are turned into a delicious grey paste that smells like like week-old festering vomit. The acid-salmon paste is put in beauty products like lipstick. My friend Kolbein has the most high-tech kitchen I've ever seen. His stove is particularly impressive. It has a very unique user interface and it heats anything up nearly as fast as a microwave.

A few of my favorite things

Last night I had a really cool dream involving a whole bunch of Saskatoon friends.
I was working at a thrift store with Mason Windels. It was Pie day so I changed the screensaver on our work computer to a loop of a fat dude shoveling pie into his mouth. Me and Mason closed the store and went to the Co-op Gas station on 8th and Broadway where Jeremy Kiss had just finishing playing a show in the parking lot. It was a show for Jesse Hicks' birthday. Jeremy had been singing motivational speeches through a vocoder with synthpop beats in the background.
"Cal! You missed the show!"
"AWWW SHIT! I didn't know that this was happening! Was there a facebook event?"
"Yeah 'Jesse's motivational electopoop'."
I felt bad for missing the cool concert but then Thomas Hynes showed up and we ate pie. It was delicious and then I woke up.

It turns out national pie day is on January 23rd, and Jesse Hicks birthday is on December 8th. It doesn't quite add up. I really wish i was born on January 23rd now thought. Here is a cool blog about pie: http://johnny-likes-pie.blogspot.com/
